Hi and thanks for joining me today.
Here it is the last week of July already! Where has the summer gone? My family spent the last 2 weeks at our family cottage and I had such a great time! Watching my grandkids play in the lake and riding on a tube on the back of our pontoon boat was so much fun. My eldest grand daughter went on the tube by herself for the first time. She is 9 years old and I think she was very brave. She was a little anxious at first but she ended up having a blast! Seeing my grandson’s proud smile after he caught his first fish was awesome too. Each year my grand kids stretch in different ways and I am so proud to see them grow and mature.
Doing something for the first time can be a bit daunting. When I first started stamping in a card making class, I was a bit anxious. I had never stamped before and was concerned that I would make a mistake. My teacher, Bethany, was very patient and explained each step as she demonstrated the technique. I could not believe how much fun I had and even my first cards were something in which to be proud. Yes, I made mistakes but I learned a lot from each mistake. Bethany was a good encourager and that helped a lot! With each card I made I became more confident and now I teach classes!
Sometimes one must just take a chance and try something new to find out whether the something is enjoyable. I like to encourage my students to try new techniques. Sometimes they make mistakes but they always learn something! I love seeing my students get better and better, but if they never took a chance they would never make any progress.
I hope you will take a chance, make mistakes and keep learning something new every day!
