Today I have a wonderful Country Christmas card to share- complete with a Farmhouse, decorated white picket fence, and a cute little dachshund puppy with a Christmas sweater!
Color Combination
My multi-color combination for my card today is Early Expresso (ink 147114/ card stock (119686), Gray Granite (ink 147118 /card stock 146983, Whisper White (100730), Crumb Cake (ink 147116 /card stock 120953), Poppy Parade (ink 147050/ card stock 119793) with dashes of Shaded Spruce, Daffodil Delight, and Old Olive.
Card Recipe: begin cutting
I began my card by cutting my Early Expresso (119686) card base 4 1/4″ X 11″ and I also cut a 2 3/4″ X 4 1/2″ piece of Early Expresso (119686) card stock. Next, I cut two pieces of Whisper White (100730) card stock 4″ X 5 1/4″ and one piece of Crumb Cake (120953) card stock 2 1/2″ X 4 1/4″.
Stamparatus
I used my Stamparatus (146276) to stamp one of the 4″ X 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White (100730) card stock using the Buffalo Check clear stamp (147794) and Gray Granite ink (147118). I stamped the piece three times to get the color I wanted. With the Stamparatus (146276) stamping at the same spot each time is easy. i got a clear dark, distinct stamp just like I wanted.
Stamparatus Accessories now Available
The Stamparatus (146276) is also really nice when you are using Tuxedo black Memento ink (132708) and are stamping a sentiment! Recently Stampin’ Up has added a new Stamparatus accessories bundle (151049). the accessories can be purchased separately or as a bundle. I plan on investing in another set of Stamparatus plates (149693). My reasoning is that I can stamp my whole card without having to remove my stamps-just by changing the plates. Time to Use some more Ink
Next, I stamped my tree from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set (148478) on to a scrap of Whisper White card stock (100730) using Gray Granite ink (147118). I thought the tree looked too stark and white so I sponged (141337) some Gray Granite ink (147118) on the tree to give it color and texture. I liked it much better that way. Then I stamped the house from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set (148478) on the Crumb Cake card stock (120953) with Early Expresso ink (147114).
Time to Color
I used Tuxedo black Memento ink (132708) to stamp the Dachshund from the Ready for Christmas stamp set (144823) and the wreath from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set (148478) on to scraps of Whisper White card stock (100730). I used Memento because I wanted to color with my Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. I used Light Shaded Spruce (147936) and light Poppy Parade (146878) Stampin’ Blends on the wreath. On the Dachshund, I used the colors Light (144582) and Dark (144581) Crumb Cake on the dog. The dachshund’s sweater has light (146878) Poppy Parade, light (144574) Old Olive, and Dark Daffodil Delight (144585) Stampin” Blends.
Big Shot Time
I have so much fun using my Big Shot (143263) and dies! I love the 3D effect die-cuts give to my cards. I used the Farmhouse Framelit Dies (147922) to cut out the tree, the dachshund, the wreath, the pretty Whisper White (100730) picket fence, and the tiny red Poppy Parade (119793) bows for the fence.
Putting it all Together
Now I get to put the card together! I attached the “gingham check” looking 1st layer with Snail Adhesive (104332). Hmmm… I wonder how the card would look using Poppy Parade ink with the Buffalo Check clear (147794) stamp on this layer! (Buffalo Check wood mount 147797)
I attached one of the 4″ X 5 1/4″ pieces of Whisper White inside the card. Then, I attached the Early Expresso and Crumb Cake layers. Next, I applied Snail Adhesive (104332) to the tree using my trusty release paper to catch the extra adhesive. I used a mini Stampin’ Dimensional (144108) (which are 10% off right now!) to attach the wreath to the house. I attached the fence and bows using Snail Adhesive. Finally, I attached the puppy. Yay! all done!
oops I forgot my sentiment. I initially thought I would stamp directly on to the Buffalo Check layer but decided to stamp “From Our Home to Yours” From the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set (148478) on a scrap of Whisper White card stock. I kept trimming the strip down until I was happy with it! I attached the strip with Snail Adhesive. I also stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set inside the card: “Thoughts of Happiness and Joy to you and yours”. there, now it is really done.
