Floral Frame Thanksgiving Card

Hi Friends,

How are you today? Hopefully you are doing great! Today’s Floral Frame Thanksgiving Card is made with the Floral Frames stamp set (clear 146508/ wood mount 146505) and the coordinating Foliage Frame Framelits Dies (146353). These sets come as a bundle (clear 148406/ wood mount 148405) too and when you buy both you can save 10%.

Color Combination

Today’s card is made from the color combination of Poppy Parade (ink 147050/ card stock 119793), Mango Melody (ink 147093/ card stock 146989), Shaded Spruce (ink 147088/ card stock 146981), Whisper White (100730), and Basic Black.

Cutting

I started by cutting my Mango Melody (146989) card base 4 1/4″ X 11″.  Then, I scored and folded the card base at 5 1/2″. Next, I cut Poppy Parade (119793) card stock 4″ X 5 1/4″.  My trusty Big Shot (143263) and a large layered circle Framelits(141705) was used to cut out one of the second largest circles out of Whisper White (100730). Finally I cut out a 4″ X 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White (100730) card stock for the inside of the card.

Stamping and Coloring

Next, I stamped the wreath image from the Foliage Frame Framelits Dies (146353) using Memento Tuxedo Black (132708) ink on the Whisper White card stock circle (100730). This type of ink is used when one is going to use Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. I let the ink dry completely before coloring so the black doesn’t smear. I colored the images as pictured with Light Shaded Spruce (147936), Light (147943) and Dark (147944) Mango Melody, and Light Poppy Parade (146878). I stamped “Happy Thanksgiving” from the retired Stamp set called Itty Bitty Greetings in the center of the wreath with Mango Melody ink (147093).

Details and Finishing

I cut three pieces of gold-flecked black Bakers Twine (you can substitute Solid Bakers Twine (141682)) approximately seven inches long. I placed adhesive on the back near where I wanted the the twine on the front. This helped me keep the twine straight on the front because I could adjust as necessary before attaching the twine to the paper. Then I cut a four to five inch piece of Baker’s Twine and tied it in a knot around the three pieces of twine.

Then, I sponged the edges of the circle with Poppy Parade (147050) ink. Next I put the pieces together using double sided adhesive tape. I attached the circle to the Poppy Parade and the Poppy Parade piece to the card base with double sided adhesive tape. I added the Whisper White (100730) card stock to the inside of the card.

There, all done! What do you think? I am thinking I could use this stamp set for a Christmas card too. What if I substitute green for the Mango Melody and change the Baker’s Twine to some gold edged ribbon. Maybe color the wreath using different greens for the leaves and make the berries red? Do you think that may work? I will have to try that!

Have a great rest of your day and Happy Stampin’

LuAnn
