Making Your Own DSP: Subtle

Sympathy and Comfort card with filigree flower design and velvet ribbon. Made for my good friend who is going through a hard time

Hi Friends,

After Stamp Club last Monday when I came home from my friend’s home, I decided I wanted to make her a special card. She is going through a tough time and I want to let her know that my sweet hubby and I are praying for her. I know she loves the Share What You Love Specialty DSP (146926), so I decided to use some of that. At Stamp Club we did a fun fold card and I thought I would use that same technique. I used colors from the DSP to choose my color combination of Mossy Meadow (133676), Mint Macaron (138337) and Rich Razzleberry (115316).

I cut a 4 1/4″ X 11″ Mossy Meadow (133676)  card base and scored it at 5 1/2″ and 4 1/4″. I cut a 3 1/2″ square from Mint Macaron (138337) card stock. Then I stamped the entire surface with the flower from retired Sale-a-Bration  Heartfelt Blossoms and Mint Macaron  (147106) ink. I stamped the sentiment from Heartfelt Blossoms with Rich Razzleberry ink (147091).

I cut a Rich Razzleberry (115316) card stock 4″ square. Then I attached the Mint Macaron (138337) square to the Rich Razzleberry (115316) square with Snail Adhesive (104332). I attached this section to the left side of the card.

I cut a floral spray of Rich Razzleberry (115316) card stock with the Flourish Thinlits (141478) and with my Big Shot (143263). I attached the floral spray to the Mint Macaron (138337) square using Snail Adhesive (104332) and using release paper to apply the adhesive to the back. Do it very gently so you don’t rip the delicate piece. If you would rather use Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755) and a Fine Tip Glue Pen (138309) that works too. I find the Snail Adhesive (104332) or other double sided tape less messy 🙂

Cut a 1″ X 4″ strip of Share What You Love Specialty DSP (146926) and attach to the right side of the card. Apply the Rich Razzleberry 1/4″ Velvet Ribbon (147016) over top of the Share What You Love Specialty DSP (146926) taping the ribbon to the back of the card. Tie a small piece of Rich Razzleberry 1/4″ Velvet Ribbon (147016) onto the other ribbon as pictured.

Tape the right side of the inside of the card near the fold of the card together and fold back the left side of your card base. This will make a 4 1/4″ square area  inside of the card. I adhered a 4 ” square of Whisper White (100730) inside and stamped a sentiment from the Illuminated Christmas stamp set (wood 147836/ clear 147833) inside. This stamp set is from the new catalog that will be available Sept 5th. I love this sentiment! “The gift of FAITH, the blessing of HOPE, the peace of His LOVE”.

If you are looking for a demonstrator I would love to be that person! My online 24/7 shop is always available and if you have any questions or have anything I can help you with, please let me know. Let me know if you would like a Holiday catalog using the form below to leave me your address.
