How are you this morning? I hope you are awesome! I can’t believe we are in the second part of October already. Christmas is coming soon and so today I have a Christmas card for you. This card is made from the Making Christmas Bright stamp set (148046) and the Snow is Glistening (149742) stamp set. Snow is Glistening is part of Stampin’ Up! November Snowflake Showcase. Can you tell I love this new set! Don’t miss this stamp set! Available November 1st on my 24/7 online shop!
Card Color Combination
Today’s card is multi-colored! The colors include Whisper White (100730), Poppy Parade (ink 147050/ card stock 119793), Balmy Blue (ink 147105 /card stock 146982), Shaded Spruce (ink 147088/card stock 146981), Pineapple Punch (ink 147141/card stock 146971), Pool Party (ink 147107/card stock 122924), and Call Me Clover (ink 147139/card stock 146969).
Card Recipe: Cutting
I started my Christmas card with a Poppy Parade (119793) card base cut 4 1/4″ X 11″. I scored and folded the card stock at 5 1/2″. I cut two pieces of Whisper White (100730) card stock 4″ X 5 1/4″; one for the front and one for the inside of the card. Another piece of Whisper White (100730) card stock was cut 2 1/2″ X 4 1/2″ for use under the window frame piece.
Next step was to cut the window frame using the recently retired Stampin’ Up! die “Hearth and Home” (139666). I cut the window frame from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper (DSP) (144177) and I think this DSP makes the window frame look very realistic!
Next, I started one of my favorite parts of card making: stamping. I used the small piece of Whisper White (100730) card stock and stamped the pretty Christmas tree of lacy snowflakes from Snow is Glistening. I used Shaded Spruce ink to stamp the tree. Next, I stamped multiple snowflake clusters (also from Snow is Glistening) all around the tree shape using Balmy Blue ink. Next, I attached the window frame to this small piece of card stock.
Then, I used my Paper Snips (103579) to trim the small Whisper White piece to fit the window frame shape. I attached the window frame to the far right of the Whisper White card slightly overlapping the edge of the card base. Later, I trimmed the frame to fit the edge of the card base.
On the far left of the Whisper White (100730) card stock for the front of the card, I stamped the closely fitting “May Your Christmas Be” using Memento (132708) ink. Under the window frame, I stamped the Christmas lights stamp from Making Christmas Bright (148046) stamp set again with Memento Tuxedo Black ink(132708). I used this type of ink on the Christmas Lights because it is compatible with alcohol inks and Stampin’ Blends.
I colored the Christmas lights with the following Stampin’ Blends alcohol ink markers: Light Poppy Parade (146878), Light Call Me Clover (147023), Dark Pineapple Punch (147030) and Light Pool Party (144595). Next, I stamped “Bright”on an angle with Poppy Parade ink (147050). Finally, I attached the front piece of card stock to the card base with Snail Adhesive (104332). I attached my Whisper White card stock piece to the inside of the card. On the inside, I stamped “Friends Make the Season Shine” from the Making Christmas Bright (148046) with Poppy Parade (147050).
