My New Favorite Bundle: Dashing Deer

Christmas card made with Stampin’ Up!’s new Dashing Deer dies and embossed with Layered Leaves embossing folder

Good Morning Friends

Thanks for joining me this morning. I had a very busy weekend seeing my grandchildren who live in Wisconsin and Illinois and scoping out a place to have our family’s 2020 Family Reunion. I was so happy to see my three granddaughters in Wisconsin. They are such a joy! And I was grateful and happy to see that my 2 year old grandson in Illinois was looking so good and was feeling fine after his almost week stay in the PICU this week. Thank you God for answered prayer! And thank God! we have finally decided on a place for our reunion!  I think Two RIvers, WI will work out well for our reunion too. What a weight off my mind!

I don’t know about you but when I am stressed out I make cards to relax! My mind dwells on the card I am making rather than the origin of my stress. Oh I am still praying too but my anxiety is lessened significantly! I made a ton of cards last week with some of my newly arrived products from the new catalog coming out September 5th! One that I really love is the bundle Dashing Deer Bundle (wood 149934/ clear 149935) (on page 9)  which has some great dies in the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies (147915) of different poses of deer and some cute little flowers that look like snowflakes. The sentiments in the stamp set are awesome in the Dashing Deer stamp set (wood 147731/ clear 147728). And one stamp of a deer is one I have to use in one of my next cards. The design is beautiful! The picture is in black and white so it doesn’t do the design justice.

I chose to not use the stamp for this card because I wanted a silhouette look to the deer. I used Garden Green (102584), Balmy Blue (146982) and Crumb Cake (120953) with Whisper White (100730) as my color combination. My card base is a 4 1/4″ X 11″ rectangle of Crumb Cake (120953) creased at 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″ and then folded inward on the 5 1/2″ and backward on the the 4 1/4″ crease.

I used the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder (143704) on a 4″ X 5 1/4″ rectangle of Garden Green (102584). I cut 1 1/4″ strip off of the longer side. Adhere the strip  and the 4″ square to the appropriate sections of the front of the card with Snail Adhesive (104332). Using the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies (147915) and my Big Shot (143263) , I cut the 2 deer pictured and adhered them to the card as pictured with Snail Adhesive (104332). Then I cut three small flowers with dies from the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies (147915) and used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (144108) to pop-up the flowers. White small Share What You Love Artisan Pearls (146927) decorate the centers of the flowers.

I stamped the sentiment on a 1 1/4″ square of Crumb Cake (120953) and placed that on a 1 3/8″ square of Balmy Blue (146982). I used Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430) to pop-up the sentiment. I used a 4″ square of Whisper White (100730) card stock for the inside sentiment, “Remembering you this season with warm thoughts and a wish for everything merry.”

A quick and easy Christmas card! I hope you will check out this bundle on my 24/7 online shop after September 5th. If you need a Holiday (or Annual) catalog just leave me a message with your address and I will get you one.

Don’t forget that Saturday August 25th 10-2pm is Saturday Sampler at my house in West Michigan. I will be demonstrating how to make your own DSP (Designers Series Paper) using stamps. Great for all levels of stampers!!                                                                                                                                                                                                 Hope your day is awesome!

Happy Stampin’

LuAnn
