I wish you a peaceful Monday! My card for today represents a new day of Peace especially for you who are struggling like I have been. I had a hard time with all these rainy, gloomy days here in Michigan this last week. This morning the sun came out and I felt such peace like God was smiling on me. This card is on the Freshly Made Sketches website as an entry to their challenge #357.

My goal is to be in God’s word daily but I run into so many obstacles with this! Do you run into that too? I want to be a witness to others but I crumble at the first opposition. I need the daily strength that comes from reading God’s word.
This weekend I had a wonderful time! I had a “Girl’s Weekend” at my cousin Loretta’s home in Irons, Michigan. Last week was such a whirlwind and having some time with friends was great. Loretta is a wonderful hostess and made us all feel right at home. We went to Traverse City on Saturday afternoon. We shopped at the mall, had a nice dinner and then saw a wonderful musical at the Old Town Playhouse. The presentation of “Mama Mia” was so entertaining. I like it better than the movie. There was even audience participation at the end!
Faith Fellowship Church
On Sunday morning some of us went to church with Loretta and Mike. They go to Faith Fellowship on the southeast corner of Big Bass Lake. What a gem of a church! They were so warm and welcoming that I felt right at home. This Sunday was World Communion Sunday and I loved the way the pastor explained the Lord’s Supper. His message was awesome. I even went home with an apple pie because I was a first time visitor. I plan to bake it later today so I’ll let you know how the pie was later. The pie looks awesome though!
Armor of God
While we were walking into the church I noticed that some of the men had a beautiful sparkling pin but I could not read what the pin said. While leaving the sanctuary I spoke with one gentleman about the pin. I noticed that the pin said “Armor of God”. He said that the Deacons all received one and the church gave them to others too. He asked if I would like one and I said “No, that’s ok”. But he persisted and later brought a Armor of God pin to me during the fellowship after the service. I was so shocked and pleased! Here is the pin that he gave me:
Ephesians 6: 10-18 is a wonderful verse for those who are struggling like me. God says: Put on the Full Armor of God. The Armor of God includes Shield of Faith, Belt of Truth, Gospel of Peace, Sword of the Spirit, Helmet of Salvation and the Breastplate of Righteousness. Here is a visual presentation of the Armor of God from the website “God’s Hotspot”.
There is a lot behind my choice of card today! I hope you will find strength from these words for today and for days to come. My card starts with a 4 1/4″ X 11″ piece cut of Whisper White (100730) card stock. Scored and folded at 5 1/2″.
I cut a piece of Night of Navy card stock 1 1/2″ X 5 1/2″. I embossed this piece of Night of Navy with the Tin Tile Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (147906). Then I cut the Night of Navy piece to 1 1/2″ X 5 1/4″. I attached this piece of card stock to the right side of the Whisper White card base.
I stamped the sunburst from the Sale-A-Bration set “Amazing You” (147212) and Daffodil Delight ink vertically along the attached Night of Navy piece.
I used a scrap strip of Daffodil delight and a retired Edgelit to cut my strip but you could substitute one of the Delicate Lace Edgelits Dies (147035) for the same effect. I attached the strip next to the Night of Navy strip. “Peace” is from my stash of stamps and I am not sure of the maker.
I hope you like my card and find some hope in the words I have shared.
Have a wonderful day and Happy Stampin’,
