Hi Friends,

Today I have a wonderful Country Christmas card to share- complete with a Farmhouse, decorated white picket fence, and a cute little dachshund puppy with a Christmas sweater!

Color Combination

My multi-color combination for my card today is Early Expresso (ink 147114/ card stock (119686), Gray Granite (ink 147118 /card stock 146983, Whisper White (100730), Crumb Cake (ink 147116 /card stock 120953), Poppy Parade (ink 147050/ card stock  119793) with dashes of Shaded Spruce, Daffodil Delight, and Old Olive.

Card Recipe: begin cutting

I began my card by cutting my Early Expresso (119686) card base 4 1/4″ X 11″ and I also cut a 2 3/4″ X 4 1/2″ piece of Early Expresso (119686) card stock. Next, I cut two pieces of Whisper White (100730) card stock 4″ X 5 1/4″ and one piece of Crumb Cake (120953) card stock 2 1/2″ X 4 1/4″.

I used my Stamparatus (146276) to stamp one of the 4″ X 5 1/4″ piece of Whisper White (100730) card stock using the Buffalo Check clear stamp (147794) and Gray Granite ink (147118). I stamped the piece three times to get the color I wanted. With the Stamparatus (146276) stamping at the same spot each time is easy. i got a clear dark, distinct stamp just like I wanted.

Stamparatus Accessories now Available

The Stamparatus (146276) is also really nice when you are using Tuxedo black Memento ink (132708) and are stamping a sentiment! Recently Stampin’ Up has  added a new Stamparatus accessories bundle (151049). the accessories can be purchased separately or as a bundle. I plan on investing in another set of Stamparatus plates (149693). My reasoning is that I can stamp my whole card without having to remove my stamps-just by changing the plates. Check out the details on my 24/7 online Stampin’ Up! Shop here.

Time to Use some more Ink

Next, I stamped my tree from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set (148478) on to a scrap of Whisper White card stock (100730) using Gray Granite ink (147118). I thought the tree looked too stark and white so I sponged (141337) some Gray Granite ink (147118) on the tree to give it color and texture. I liked it much better that way. Then I stamped the house from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set (148478) on the Crumb Cake card stock (120953) with Early Expresso ink (147114).

Time to Color

I used Tuxedo black Memento ink (132708) to stamp the Dachshund from the Ready for Christmas stamp set (144823) and the wreath from the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set (148478) on to scraps of Whisper White card stock (100730). I used Memento because I wanted to color with my Stampin’ Blends Alcohol Markers. I used Light Shaded Spruce (147936) and light Poppy Parade (146878) Stampin’ Blends on the wreath. On the Dachshund, I used the colors Light (144582) and Dark (144581) Crumb Cake on the dog. The dachshund’s sweater has light (146878) Poppy Parade, light (144574) Old Olive, and Dark Daffodil Delight (144585) Stampin” Blends.

Big Shot Time

I have so much fun using my Big Shot (143263) and dies! I love the 3D effect die-cuts give to my cards. I used the Farmhouse Framelit Dies (147922) to cut out the tree, the dachshund, the wreath, the pretty Whisper White (100730) picket fence, and the tiny red Poppy Parade (119793) bows for the fence.

Putting it all Together

Now I get to put the card together! I attached the “gingham check” looking 1st layer with Snail Adhesive (104332). Hmmm… I wonder how the card would look using Poppy Parade ink with the Buffalo Check clear (147794) stamp on this layer! (Buffalo Check wood mount 147797

I attached one of the 4″ X 5 1/4″ pieces of Whisper White inside the card. Then, I attached the Early Expresso and Crumb Cake layers. Next, I applied Snail Adhesive (104332) to the tree using my trusty release paper to catch the extra adhesive. I used a mini Stampin’ Dimensional (144108) (which are 10% off right now!) to attach the wreath to the house. I attached the fence and bows using Snail Adhesive. Finally, I attached the puppy. Yay! all done!

oops I forgot my sentiment. I initially thought I would stamp directly on to the Buffalo Check layer but decided to stamp “From Our Home to Yours” From the Farmhouse Christmas stamp set (148478) on a scrap of Whisper White card stock. I kept trimming the strip down until I was happy with it! I attached the strip with Snail Adhesive. I also stamped a sentiment from the same stamp set inside the card: “Thoughts of Happiness and Joy to you and yours”. there, now it is really done.

Hi Friends

How are you doing today? I hope you are doing well! I am up at a Quilt Retreat this weekend! I scheduled this to post today so you would still have a card from me today. I hope you enjoy!

For my card today I used Winter Woods bundle (Wood 149991/ Clear 149992) which is made up of Winter Woods stamp set (Wood 147658/ Clear 147661) and In the Woods Framelits Dies (147919). When I purchased them together I saved 10% and you can too! Here is a link to my 24/7 online shop!

I stamped the dachshund from the Ready for Christmas (144823) and die cut it with the Christmas Staircase Thinlits (144679). I also used the Sheet Music Stamp for this card (wood 143967/ clear 143970).

Color Combination

The color combination of my card is Mossy Meadow (ink 147111 /card stock 133676), Smoky Slate (ink 147113 /card stock 131202), Real Red (ink 147084/card stock 102482) and Whisper White (100730).

Card Directions

I cut the Smoky Slate (131202) card base 4 1/4″ X 11″ and scored and folded it at 5 1/2″. Using my Stamparatus (146276), Whisper White card stock (100730), Smoky Slate ink  (147113), and the Sheet Music Stamp (wood 143967/ clear 143970). I attached this card stock with Snail Adhesive (104332) to the card base.

I stamped the Christmas tree from Winter Woods (Wood 147658/ Clear 147661) stamp set with Mossy Meadow ink (147111). I die cut it with the In the Woods Framelits Dies (147919) and my trusty Big Shot (143263). I attached the tree with Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430).

After stamping the sentiment from Winter Woods (Wood 147658/ Clear 147661) stamp set, I punched it out with the Everyday Label (144668). I sponged the edges of the label with a Stampin’ Sponge (141337) and Mossy Meadow ink (147111).

I stamped the dachshund from the Ready for Christmas (144823).  I colored the dachshund with dark (145055) Smoky Slate, light (145054) Smoky Slate, light Real Red (147933) and light Old Olive (144574).  I die cut the dachshund with the Christmas Staircase Thinlits (144679). Finally I cut a 4″ X 5 1/2″ piece of Whisper White card stock (100730) and attached it to the center of the card. I stamped the inside with “At Christmas and Always” from Ready for Christmas (144823).

Hope you like the card for today. Let me know in the comments below.

True Meaning of Christmas (Image © [2018] Stampin’ Up!®)

Color Combination

My color combination for today’s card is Whisper White (card stock 100730), Granny Apple Green (ink 147095/ card stock 146990) , Poppy Parade (ink 147050/ card stock 119793),  and Balmy Blue ( ink (147105/card stock (146982).

Design Process

I went all out and used a number of stamp sets, dies, and an embossing folder in this card. I started with the fence and pretty tiny bows from the Farmhouse Framelits Dies (147922). What an awesome fence! I love it! Then I decided to make an outdoor Christmas scene so I chose my embossing folder- Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (141493) -to add some texture to my “ground” or “grass.”

I knew I wanted to use the dachshund from the Ready for Christmas (144823) because I love her sweater and thought the colors I chose for the sweater could tie everything together. I stamped, colored, and cut her out using the Christmas Staircase Thinlits Die (144679). Okay, so then I thought what about a Christmas tree? so I chose the tree from the Christmas Staircase Thinlits Dies (144679) to put in front of the fence.

I thought there needed to be something in the tree for the dog to be looking at so I stamped and colored the cute little bird from Sitting Pretty (146615). then I cut it out using the coordinating Pretty Park Framelits Dies (146825).

Dynamic Textured Embossing Folders

When embossing with the Dynamic Textured (very thick) embossing folders remember to only use one clear cutting plate, otherwise the sandwich is too thick! I spritzed water on my 4″ X 5 1/4″ Whisper White (100730) card stock -on the top and bottom-  with my handy Stampin’ Spritzer (126185before embossing with my Big Shot (143263). The damp card stock helps the embossing folder leave a better impression in the card stock. Let the damp piece of card stock dry flat before trying to use it in a card. I put a cutting plate over the top of the damp card stock while drying so that it would dry completely flat.

Remember that this process will make the card stock shrink up a bit so cut the piece a bit bigger like 1/8″ on both sides. some people cut the piece even bigger than that and cut the piece after embossing. Both work so try both and see what you like to do.

Directions for my Card

My 4 1/4″ X 11″ card base was cut from Balmy Blue Card stock (146982). I cut a 2″ X 4″ strip of Granny Apple Green card stock (146990) and embossed the piece using the Petal Burst Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (141493) and my trusty Big Shot (143263). I applied this strip to lower part of the card with Snail Adhesive (104332).

Using my trusty Big Shot (143263) and the cool fence die from the Farmhouse Framelits Dies (147992), I cut a delicate looking Whisper White card stock (100730) fence.  I had to use my Paper Piecing Tool (126189) to poke out the pieces between the fence post but I think it’s worth it! What an awesome looking fence!! I attached the fence with Snail Adhesive (104332) and release paper  (using the release paper to collect the extra adhesive). I positioned the fence to cover the edge of the Granny Apple Green strip (146990) with the lower fence rail. I cut bows from Poppy Parade (119793) for the fence using a die from the Farmhouse Framelits Dies (147992) and my trusty Big shot (143263). I attached the tiny bows to the fence using Snail adhesive (104332), release paper, and my new Take your Pick tool.

Take Your Pick Tool

My new tool (144107)  called “Take Your Pick” was so handy when placing the tiny bows. This is in the new Holiday catalog on page 30. This multipurpose pickup and precision tool makes those kind of finicky tasks easier! The tacky putty end easily picks up sequins, tiny bows, and other small objects. To get more putty you just twist. there are refills available for the putty end too This tool’s other end has two changeable, double-ended tips with a paper piercer, mini spatula, small stylus, and large Style. There are protective end caps included as well as a putty refill! the tool is only 6 1/2″ long so it will fit easily in your tool kit! This is a must have tool!! Order one now at my 24/7 online Stampin’ Up! Shop here.

Details, Details, Details

Next I cut my Christmas tree with my Big Shot and the pretty textured tree from the Christmas Staircase Thinlits Dies (144679). I cut the tree out of Granny Smith Green (146990) card stock. I used a stampin’ Sponge (141337) and Call me Clover ink (147139) to accent the branches and edges of the tree. I attached the tree using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (144108).

Why use Memento with Stampin’ Blends?

Always use Memento when using Stampin’ Blends and wait a few seconds until the ink is dry so the black doesn’t bleed into your color. Because Stampin’ Blends have an alcohol-based dye ink, they require a certain type of ink to be compatible when coloring stamped images.  Staz-On ink is usually permanent on just about any surface but the alcohol in Stampin’ Blends reacts to the solvent in Staz-On and basically reactivates the dried Staz-On so your stamped image smears.

The Dachshund dog was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink (132708) using the Ready for Christmas stamp set (144823).  I colored the dachshund with Stampin’ Blends. The Stampin’ BLends colors I used were dark Poppy Parade (146879), Dark Crumb Cake (144581) , Light Crumb Cake (144582), light (146876) and Dark Granny apple Green ( 146877) and light Mango melody (147943). then I cut out the Dachshund with the die from the Christmas staircase THinlits (146825). I attached the Dachshund with Mini Dimensionals (144108).

My sweet little bird was stamped using Memento Ink (132708) using the Sitting Pretty (146615) stamp set. I colored the bird with Light Mango melody (147943). then I cut the bird out using the coordinating Pretty Park Framelits Dies (146825).  I attached the bird with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional (144108).

The sentiment is an awesome one I think: “May this Season Be blessed with the True Meaning of Christmas.” The His Light stamp set (Wood 147736 / is from the new Holiday catalog on page 26 and has four wonderful sentiments that I will use over and over! I stamped the sentiment with Poppy Parade ink (147050).

Variety is the Spice of Life

I used a variety of stamp sets, dies, and an embossing folder to show how you can use many Stampin’ Products together to make an original card that you can give this Christmas to someone you love. I combined products that carried over from a previous catalog, some from the new Annual catalog, and some from the Holiday catalog. I think the products all fit together. Don’t YOU? Let me know what you think in the comments below.

As always I appreciate your support in my Stampin’ Up! business. If you are looking for a demonstrator I would be so honored if you choose me! Let me know if you have any questions or if you need a catalog! Thanks!

Have a wonderful day and Happy Stampin’

STAMP CLUB Starting Soon!

Are you in the West Michigan area? Are you interested in joining a Stamp Club? My plan is to have the Stamp Club meet once a month on the first Friday of the month from 1-4pm (alternatively we could meet on the first Mondays if that works better for everyone). At this meeting members would see new products, learn new techniques and make at least 3 cards or 3D projects.

All 6 members would commit to a 6 month period. Each person would agree to order at least $25 of products each month. Every month one member would be the hostess and would get these hostess benefits. Which would be at least $15 worth of free products. The amount of free products you would earn depends on how much the club members order.

Would this interest you? Do you have any Stamping friends that might join us? Call 616-490-1731 or email me today
